Let’s be real… raise your hand if you have tons of digital images in your collection but rarely print your pictures? I know sometimes it’s easy to forget to print those pictures and before you know it… between images in your phone, on Google Drive, in your computer; your images get in the virtual space collecting virtual dust.

Below we’ve laid out reasons why you should finally print your images

 Your images are your story

Each moment in those images represent your story. When you have to choose which photo you’re going to print you need to ask yourself: ‘What memories do I want to be able to look at whenever I want to? Turning something virtual into something you can touch somehow makes it more real.  Seeing the smiles of loved ones and other cherished memories around your house can be heartwarming and inspiring. In the same way, it will make your friends and family flattered by the attention and strengthens your bond with them.   It will be a good reminder of what matters most to you.

A well-known study by David A. Krauss says “I think it is really important to show a family as a family unit. It is so helpful for children to see themselves as a valued and important part of that family unit. A photographer’s job is to create and make the image look like a safe holding space for kids where they are safe and protected. Kids get it on a really simple level.”   Reread that quote. It’s such a powerful statement.

Digital is a great way to capture images BUT it’s not always the best way to store or display those moments. Software & file applications change all the time – how do you know you’ll be able to access your files in 30 years? You can never say for sure if your files are safe. Printed images don’t suffer from hard drive failures and can be passed on for your next generation.

Show your wall some love

A blank wall could use a nice smile. Maybe it’s above the living room couch, in the stairway, or in your front entry. Adding a few pictures throughout is a great way to change things up. Make a statement and express yourself through large prints. Grab some new throw pillows or a window dressing to match while you’re at it!

Scrapbook project could be real fun

Putting together a scrapbook for your partner or children isn’t only therapeutic for you, but it will be a treasured gift they’ll keep forever. You could even invite a loved one to help create the scrapbook with you.
